• The Romsons Tracheostomy Tube (CUFFED) is a medical device used for establishing and maintaining a secure airway in patients who require a tracheostomy. It is designed to be inserted into a surgically created opening in the neck, known as a tracheostomy stoma, to provide a direct airway access.
• Design: The tracheostomy tube is typically made of medical-grade materials, such as silicone or PVC. It consists of a curved tube with a cuff, an inflatable balloon-like structure near the distal end, and a flange or neck plate that rests against the neck to secure the tube.
• Cuffed: The cuffed tracheostomy tube is designed with an inflatable cuff that can be inflated or deflated as needed. The cuff is positioned below the vocal cords when inflated to help prevent aspiration and facilitate mechanical ventilation. The cuff is usually inflated using a syringe connected to a pilot balloon.
